Your First Night
You can enjoy a relaxing evening at a local restaurant or have a private chef come in and cook dinner for you. We should have the chef arranged in advance and once you are on site you will need to notify us 24 hours in advance for a chef.
Please plan to arrive at the charter dock at 6:45 am to meet your boat and get a fishing license. The license is $15 per person payable in cash only. If you are staying outside the resort, grab a taxi and have them take you to the charter dock. The boat will leave the dock at 7:00 am and return around 4:00 – 4:30 pm. The boat will provide all bait and tackle. Your charter will include lunch, fresh fruit and beverages consisting of water, soft drinks and beer. The only thing you need to bring is sunscreen and a camera! You will be targeting billfish such as blue, black and striped marlin and sailfish. You may also find some mahi and tuna. The boat always has wasabi onboard and is prepared to make some fresh sushi. When you’re ready for a break from fishing you can relax in the air conditioned salon. While headed back to the dock in the afternoon the crew will clean and filet any fish you caught so you can take it with you. There are several places located within the resort that will pack your fish if you plan to take it back to the states.
Docktails and Fish Stories
Once you arrive back at the dock the crew will call a taxi for you if you are not staying at the resort. Before heading back to your condo or home you may want to head to the Beach Club for a quick dip in the pool. Relax and enjoy a cocktail at the swim up bar and enjoy the sunset. Costa Rica has some of the best sunsets on the planet!!! After you get cleaned up take your fresh catch and head to the Hook-Up restaurant. It’s located at the head of the main dock in the marina at Los Sueños. They will carefully prepare your fresh catch several different ways. This is the place where all the crews and anglers hang out to enjoy an ice cold Imperial (local beer) while swapping fish stories. The Hook Up offers an American style menu and has 7 TV’s so you can watch any major sporting event.
Catamaran to Tortuga Island
Cruise to Isla Tortuga aboard the 54’ catamaran. Check in begins at 7:20 am. The boat will depart the dock at 7:45 am and return at 3:30pm. The boat is located next to El Galeon Restaurant in Los Sueños. The tour includes round trip transfers from Los Sueños, Jaco and Herradura. Other areas available at additional cost. A light breakfast consisting of coffee, juice, water, muffins and fruit await you as you arrive at the boat. The ride to the island will take approximately 45 minutes. There are 3 beach activities included in the tour: snorkeling, a banana boat ride, and eco hike. Jet skis, paddle boards, and kayaks are available for an additional cost. For those looking to relax there are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. A BBQ lunch will be served. Water, soda, rum punch and margaritas are served all day at no additional cost. There are also other bar options available.
Rest & Recovery
Once back to the dock you may want to return to your condo or home and have a cocktail poolside before getting ready to head to Jaco for dinner and a stroll through town. The Lemon Zest Restaurant is an absolute must when visiting Jaco. The food is amazing and the wait staff is friendly and professional. Their Buffalo Lobster Bites with Blue Cheese appetizer is to die for!!! Everything is cooked to order so plan to just sit back and relax either inside or out and enjoy the experience. Once dinner is over, plan to do some shopping at the many shops located on the main street. The perfect way to walk off your dinner.
Rooster Fishing Adventure
Please arrive at the charter dock at 6:45 to meet your boat and get a fishing license if you don’t already have one. The boat will leave the dock at 7:00am and return at 4:00pm-4:30pm. The boat will provide all bait and tackle, lunch, fresh fruit and beverages consisting of water, soft drinks and beer. The most sought after inshore fish species is the “Roosterfish”. The rooster fish is a member of the jack family named for its comb like dorsal fin and stripes. This is definitely a “bucket list” fish. The rooster fish is known for its fighting availability and is definitely a challenge to catch. They can usually be found along the rocks of small islands and river mouths.
Ready, Set, Relax
Once back to the dock head to the Beach Club and relax in the pool and sip on a cocktail while watching the sun set. Head back to your condo or home and get ready to relax while a private chef prepares your dinner. It’s always fun to go to a restaurant but sometimes it’s just nice to stay home and let someone else worry about the cooking. The private chef will come in and prepare everything from appetizers through dessert. This is the perfect way to unwind and end the day!
Guided Tour at Manuel Antonio National Park
A van will pick you up at your condo or home and drive you to the Manuel Antonio National Park. It’s about an hour south of Los Sueños. Manuel Antonio is one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the world. The park consists of a combination of rainforest, beaches and coral reefs. The rainforest is home to sloths, iguanas, and monkeys. You’ll hike through the rainforest with an experienced and bilingual tour guide. All guides are certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board. Your guide will have a high-powered spotting scope which will allow you to see a variety of flora and fauna up close. The tour will last 2.5-3 hours. Make sure to bring hiking shoes, repellant, a hat, camera and water. Wear a swimsuit so you can take a swim after your hike.
Lunch at El Avion
After your tour is finished your driver will pick you up and take you to lunch. El Avion is a must see restaurant when in Manuel Antonio. It’s a C-123 Fairchild Cargo Plane that has been converted to a pub and a 2 level bar and restaurant. This is a great place for a late lunch with fantastic views overlooking the Pacific and the jungles of Manuel Antonio. After lunch head to Marina Pez Vela and do a little souvenir shopping in one of the many shops the marina has to offer. As it gets close to sunset, stroll into Runaway Grill and grab a seat. Order a cocktail and appetizer from their extensive menu and watch another gorgeous Costa Rican sunset. Once the sun sets your driver will pick you up and drive you back to your condo or home.
A Seamless Departure
A van will pick you up at your condo or home approximately 4 hours before your departure flight. A quick stop to return your condo or house keys and then you will go directly to the airport. This allows for plenty of travel time to the airport and for the check in process.
A Quick Shopping Experience
Once you’ve gone through security at the airport you still have one more chance to buy that special last minute gift. This is your last chance to purchase some of that delicious Costa Rican coffee. There is also a Duty-Free store where you can purchase perfume and cosmetics, liquors and electronics.
